Everyone who takes on a VELOTHON has their own unique source of inspiration prompting them into action. These reasons are as diverse as VELOTHON athletes themselves: whether racing to battle addiction; to bring awareness to a noble cause; or to simply ride for the fun of it.

"2016 was the first time for me, and it was perfect! You had the entire road to yourself - no cars, no traffic lights - and you ride faster than you can ever imagine. What’s really special is turning onto the home straight, where several thousand spectators cheer you on - that was definitely impressive. Will be there next year again!"

"The unique feeling I have on a bike is the sense of freedom I have wherever I am or wherever I am going. Riding along with a group of other cyclists at a VELOTHON has been an incredible experience that everyone should have at least once. Racing on closed roads with teammates has enabled me to cycle faster than I have ever imagined, with pure emotions on the final straight before the finish. Thousands of spectators and friends cheering you on gives you such a push, and makes you feel like a pro. I will definitively continue to participate in the VELOTHON events, as no other event has given me such goosebumps before the start and even more at the finish line."

"The Velothon in Berlin was very well organized as always, and my girlfriend and I felt safe among the rider field at all times. The Safer Cycling Guides make great reference points."

"I rode my first bike race, the VELOTHON Berlin 2014, alone for the most part, out of respect and fear. That was entirely unnecessary. With its multiple starting blocks, the EuroEyes CYCLASSICS have shown that women can also compete in and even lead the peloton. I found a nice “trailing group” during the race, which made my second race just brilliant. Crossing the home stretch on the Mönckebergstraße is unbeatable! Pure goosebumps - with so many cheering fans! You also get pulled in by the extremely cool medals at the finish. Perfect."

"What Woodstock has been for music - that’s the CYCLASSICS for cycling races! A one-of-a-kind atmosphere that you have to at least experience once in your life!"
